Insists on Trivex Material

“I kind of exclusively recommend Trivex material to my customers. If they’re looking for a less expensive product, I’ll sell it to them in CR-39™ monomer or poly. But I often don’t give people a choice. If you come into my office and want a rimless frame, you will use lenses made with Trivex material. I don’t even talk about other products. I tell my customers to go buy them someplace else, and I am in no place to refuse to do business.”

“Nearly half of my sales are lenses made from Trivex material, and I have not had one unsatisfied customer. Trivex material is everything I say it is, and they agree. They say these are the most comfortable glasses I’ve ever worn.”

— Harry Jilson, optician, Eyeglasses One, Hyannis, Massachusetts

Durability and Crispness for Loggers

“We have a lot of logging here, so for those patients I make sure they have Trivex material for safety. Most people don’t wear safety glasses because they’re working out in the woods on their own, and are just wearing their everyday glasses. As far as the key benefits of Trivex material, durability is the first thing. The vision – crispness of vision – is another. And it’s better for patient satisfaction. We don’t see them back because of the durability and scratch resistance.”

— Sue Laskowski, optometric technician, Northern Wisconsin

Patient Satisfaction Never Higher

"When Trivex material came onto the scene in 2001 we immediately saw what this product would do for our patients. Our labs partnered with us to offer a great warranty. Our opticians understand the benefits that Trivex material offers and have done a great job relaying that information to our patients. We have consistently dispensed greater than 70% Trivex material over the past several years."

"It is not uncommon for a patient coming out of poly and going into Trivex material to notice improved visual acuity. When combined with a quality lightweight frame patient satisfaction has never been higher! What a great match Trivex material has been with today's drill mounts as well as Nylor rimless frames where the groove is in direct contact with metal."

— Kim Neely, optician, IC Optics, Putnam, Connecticut

Top of the Line Optics

Trivex material is more of a cutting edge technology. We use the term high-definition. The vast majority of the time it’s just going to be the best. When I hand off a patient to an optician, I’m making a recommendation on eyewear – to some degree – and I almost always recommend lenses made from Trivex material. We tell them this is going to help you perform and look the best.”

“We use Trivex material whenever possible as our top of the line. It’s so durable, but, in our minds it’s the optics that really stand out.”

— Susan Resnick, O.D., New York, New York

My Everyday Lens Material

“I have recommended HOYA’s Phoenix lenses made with Trivex material from day one. There is no reason not to sell it. I like that it gives me a better option – high impact resistance over polycarbonate.”

“When people come in with a prescription of less than three or four, I always go to Trivex material first, because there is no reason to offer anything else. It’s my everyday lens material.”

— Juanita Kline, optician, Osborn Optical Shoppe, Fairborn, Ohio

Chromatic Aberration Solved

“I was always a poly fan except for the problems with the chromatic aberration. Trivex material solved that. I like the fact that it’s thin, lightweight, impact resistant – so it’s safe – and offers UV protection, too.”

— Janice Jackman, O.D., Orange, California

Run Over By a Pickup Truck and Lived to Tell

“When our office manager got her glasses made with Trivex material – her first drill mount – they were so light she forgot she had them on. One night on the way home from her son’s graduation she put them on her lap and took a nap and when she awoke she got out of the truck and went into the house. The next day she found her glasses on the driveway. They had been run over by the truck when her husband left for work. The frames were completely flattened and the screw that attaches the temple to one of the lenses was broken off. Other than a few marks from the black top the lenses were intact. Instead of putting the lenses in new frames we kept the glasses as they were found to show our patients how durable lenses made with Trivex material are.”

"Trivex material seems to take the prescription better than polycarbonate when we are surfacing it. It’s so much nicer to drill. The patients are very pleased with the vision because they don’t have the distortion that you sometime have with polycarbonate."

— Judy Gyton, lab manager, Gardner Optical, Franklin, Pennsylvania

Recommends Trivex Material/Transitions Lenses Combo for Kids

“I recommend Trivex material specifically for children, for the safety issue. It’s as impact resistant as poly, but with the added benefit of superior optics. I definitely also recommend Trivex material combined with Transitions lenses. Children are so susceptible to problems with their eyes, so we want to protect their vision while also offering some comfort and sun protection as well.”

— Jason Smith, O.D., Forty Fort Eye Associates, Forty Fort, Pennsylvania

New Generation Technology

Trivex material is great – it’s our lens material of choice. It’s great for drilling, and for kids. It really gives us a leg up. There is no distortion like in polycarbonate. When you drill it, there is no cracking and crazing. It’s very lightweight, comfortable, great for kids and anyone you need an impact-resistant lens for, especially drill mounts.”

"We explain to our customers that Trivex material is as durable as polycarbonate, but the quality is the new generation. It’s new technology. They won’t have the distortion, and they will have all the other features of polycarbonate but better.”

— J.L. Hoehn, optician, Your Family Eye Doctors Inc., Murrysville, Pennsylvania

Acuity Provides Fantastic Alternative to Poly

“I’m a fan of Trivex material because it’s a fantastic alternative to poly. I much prefer to use Trivex material, because of the Abbe value. The acuity you obtain through it is much, much better.”

“We see a lot of people coming in wearing polycarbonate, and sometimes the Abbe value is not working for them, especially with drill mounts. We’re able to put them into lenses made with Trivex material without a problem. Once you get patients into Trivex material, they tell us they see much better.”

— Roger Corley, owner, certified optician and manager, Oculens Optical, Garland, Texas
